A Year of Song- Song

https://youtu.be/Siie53Xtr2sA Year of SongThis year from month to month I will put up a new song. I may put up more than one as I don’t want to set any limits on myself. I write a lot of music but getting it out there can be quite a long process. From my head to a demo to a music arrangement to studio recording then to stream is a long process. I record, mix and produce the tracks myself using the music program logic. I will probably make lots of mistakes. I know I will learn. I have so many songs and pieces sitting on my computer gathering digital dust. I’m dragging that suitcase off the shelf and all the notes are going to be emptied onto the floor. I will make videos to go with each track if possible and I will put up the lyrics and the sheet music of the melody.Song One- Got to Make a ChangeThis month I was inspired to write a song about the climate change crisis after the school strikes. The young people speaking about their future on Earth are so inspiring. I asked my daughter to collaborate with me on the song. I recorded her responses to a few questions about how she feels about the situation. I sampled some of her powerful responses and sampled them into the song. You can hear her voice throughout. I also included my toddlers at the end of the song. I used beautiful footage from the Irish company Rotor video to create a video for the song.
